Hide bodies from cut list?

I would like to model a part using weldments.

If you picture a 4 sided hopper, i will explain my design intent on this basis.

First I will model up a solid body for the hopper "volume". Next I will Offset the four side faces of the hopper and then use the thicken command to create solid bodies out of the offset faces. If I hide the "volume" solid body I am left with the hopper.

The advantage of this method is that I can easily modify the hopper by simply editing the master "volume" solid body. This in turn updates the 4 side plates.

My problem comes up when i want to create a cutlist in the drawing. The master "volume" body appears as a cutlist item. I don't want it in the cutlist. It is simply there to drive the other solid bodies.

I have used this method before but instead of using a solid model as the driving feature I have modeled the "volume" geometry using surfaces as they don't appear in the cutlist. The problem is that creating the geometry using surfaces takes longer.

Any suggestions?
