Creating Parts from a weldment

I have been trying to work out the best way to create detailed parts drawings and cut lists from welments. From what I've gathered, there are two methods. One is to create drawing parts from the cut list using relative views. The problems so far with this method have been related to numbering of the components on the cutlist and the drawng views becoming corrupted. The other way is to save the cut list parts out as an assembly. I'm not sure how weld ment properties are transferred through to parts or if this needs to be done manually for each part.

There is also the issue of how to create and draw a weldment part when nuts are welded onto plate in the weldment.

Any comments on the pros and cons of these methods will be appreciated.
