I have never worked with the weldment feature. But recently started working with parts that are welded together during manufacturing. The parts are not structural parts or plates that seem to be depicted in the weldment feature. The parts are two CNC machined parts. I can either take the one part and then insert a part copy of the other part and then weld them togeather. Or I can create an assembly and then use the assembly feature to insert a weld bead. Both create a part that I am looking for but when I use the weldment feature how do I get a proper bill of materials? I don't need any cut list. Am I using the weldment feature incorrectly?
Thanks

Weldment is a part. With weldment you can use only Cut sheet.
No BOM can be used.
BOM can be populated with assembly only.
For shop is no difference what you use. You can make them look identical.
