Is there ~any~ way to take a weldment and save it as an assembly file with individual piece part files that are independent of the original weldment?

Splitassembly still references the weldment.

I just want to make certain that once you've created a weldment and decide that it should be an assembly that there isn't someway to convert the weldment to an assembly without starting over in assembly mode.

The reason is that I created a weldment. My boss wanted an assembly with piece parts broken out as individual pieces that did not reference back to the weldment for updating. He has a valid concern that someone would pick up that piece part file and use it in another assembly and then the original weldment might become obsolete. I ~know~ the intent of a weldment if that you don't take those parts and use elsewhere. I know.

I am hoping that I don't have to start from scratch in assembly mode.

Thank you for your time.
