Configurations in weldment cut list.

Hi,

I have weldment of 2 plates. PLates are different size inconfigurations.
When I do custom properties (material) in cut list, I can not findthe way to
specify different material in configurations.
Is it any way to do so ?

Yes, SolidAir.
Isn't it the only way ? They are plates not std profiles.

No it is not. There is almost always a way to get a parametric dimension linked in a cutlist. If you have a simple one that you are having problems with, post it and I will be glad to look at it. Please post the version of SolidWorks you are using. I can work in SW2004 thru SW2007.

I tried just now(dimension linking, custom properties), but the dimension in the weldment cutlist stick to the first (defualt) configuration , it will not update when I switch to another configuration with another set of dimension.

Maybe you can try with two simply plate weldment part with mulitple configuration and a multiple-sheet drawing, and post your work around method. Thanks

Hi,
Thank You SA and Lin.
I'm new to SW (10 mths) coming from Autocad. We have a lot ofweldments with many
items (raw material and parts) as one part. Many times next size ofpart is one or two different dims. In SW I use relative view todetail those items and have cut list.
My problem is that I do not see cut items custom properties to beconfiguration specific.
I do not have problem with linking dims to cut list.
I will submit enhancement request.

WELL, I think I had declared the wrong conclusion:

With dimension link and custom properties, it can be done!
Please refer to attached simple part.

The key is , when you insert the welment list, need to to identify the configuration, if you chang the view to another configuration later, the cutlist will stick to the default one.
