It's 2015 and solidworks still has the problem with multibody parts configurations calling "as machined'. when I am making a drawing the suffix shows next to the part # on the titl block and when making bills of material for the drawing it put the suffix on the bill. This is really Stupid!! Solidworks needs a setting control for this today.
You can edit your Part template so that doesn't happen.
Yes I know, But the next person may not know, The next person bring this part into his assembly it will repeat the same problem.
The Templates are locked on the Server who we share with 6 other sister companies.
Only admin can can change the template, But when change not sure how it will affect other 6 companies.
The offending suffix can be removed by creating a design table (select "block model edits"), and adding a new config name to the table. Exit the table (click anywhere outside it), and then select your new config name as the active configuration. You can now delete/rename these configurations.
Yes, it's a hack, but it works.
