Hi All
A supplier I deal with is having major trouble opening the DXF files I send him from Solidworks. I have a solidworks drawing with the parts layed out at 1:1 scale. I export that as a DXF file and when ever he tries to bring them in no go?? He has opened them in illustrator and said that the straight lines are doubled up and the outlines aren't joint as polylines. I have also experienced this problem when editing DXF from Solidworks in graphic programs like illustrator and Corel draw. I even when to the extent of manually joining all the lines and corners in Corel draw and out putting a DXF but he could not read them either?
Any idea? I really need to get these parts cut but until he can read the files I'm screwed!
Have you tryed playing about with the settings in the options tab when you select export flat pattern to dxf file when the save as appears theres an options tab with some settings in there for various cad systems.
send both dwg and dxf...if the can read the dwg they can make their own dxf.....
when are the laser and waterjet companys going to get rid of dxf...they suck!!!!!!!
splines turn into polylines then have to remake the splines to the control software!
