Hi when i open solidworks i am getting a error message .....see the pic attached for the error.
afetr selecting ok, it will give another error...
How many applications are you running when trying to launch SolidWorks?
There are only so many resources allocated by Windows to the Desktop Heap. The second message indicates you have exceeded the limit.
Turn off some of what you have running with Solidworks.
What are you complete computer system specs? You may also be getting to the point of needing a computer with more memory and a x64 bit system to do what you wish to do in SolidWorks.
Lastly, are you using SW2010 PR1? Get yourself the SP0 version of SW2010 and try that since it has been released for a few weeks already.
We had this in SW2009. Check out S-030726 in the Knowledge Base. I'd just rename the same key, but for SW2010.
Question: What causes the following error while starting SolidWorks 2009? “An invalid argument was encountered", followed by "SolidWorks cannot startup because the system desktop application resources have been exceeded.”
Answer: There have been reports of this error being caused by a corrupt HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2009\User Interface key. Please try the following to see if this is the case.1) Close SolidWorks2) Open the Registry Editor3) Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2009\User Interface4) Rename HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2009\User Interface key5) Start Solidworks 2009.This has been reported as SPR 521146.Caution:Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on your computer.
thanks for the reply...........matt
My solidworks now works perfectly....
I had the same problem with SW2010, the solution was good. After you rename the folder windows will create another folder with the initial name and SW will work with no problem. Thanks Matt!!!
