Hello,
I'm working on a project that requires accurate 3D models of pickup truck models from all the major manufacturers; Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan. I've made the request from Ford Fleet program but, was not able to find anything similar for the other MFGs.
So, if anyone has good contact info they could pass along for these MFGs, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Steve
If and when I get the models, I'll post them up on the 3dContentCentral site. Oh, and before I forget, I did have a go at some of the models that have been done on Google SketchUp. Once I was able to get them translated, the geometry was so rough that they were useless. They sure look pretty while your in SketchUp but once you getting in a real CAD system, yuck.
Thanks,
Steve
Not sure about the other two but you can contact GM for the models.

If you do get models from any of the manufacturers I would be carefull what you post on a public web site. They will send you files but I would read their legal info to make sure you are allowed to do this.
Thanks for the reply. You're right about the non disclosure. Explains why there's not much to be found on the internet. Thank you for the link to the GM site, that's just what I was looking for.

Steve
dos any one happin to have the up to date web sit for Toyota tundra chassis and body models,
or know where I can go to get it.
Thanks, Bejay
Kevin,
Funny that you mention the body work. I recieved a pair of disks from GM within two days of requesting the Sierra pickup cab and bed models. They sent every fraking piece of sheet metal of the body work! I was stunned. It took 20 minutes to import the assembly and I've got a very fast quad core duo with 6 GIGS of RAM.
I'm on the "list" for Ford and they keep saying that they'll send it when they get around to it. Toyota said they recieved the request. That was two months ago.
Steve
Hmmm I would love to know how you accomplished this. From GM I only received the hood, quarter panels and steps. There was no roof, no headlights, and no doors. From Ford I received absolutely nothing I requested. One file they sent me just had a bunch of hardware floating in space, which is obviously no good. Did you receive STEP files? Perhaps its the model you requested. I tried getting the commercial fleet series which is what we use. Let me know your secret Steve. I would love full bodies to do some nice renderings for marketing, as well as tolerance measurements.

Kevin,
I just requested what I wanted on the GM UPFITTER site under Math Data Request. It came to me in Parasolid format (Unigraphics) and it was a bear to get it imported into SW. It was really almost to much information for what I wanted. But, better to much than not enough, right?
Cheers,
Steve
