When importing external data, Solidworks creates a .rpt file for it.
However I can't seem to open this with Notepad or Wordpad, all I get is garbelygoock.
It may seem silly -- but how can I open these files?
I mistook .prt for .rpt, that's borderline embarrassing
I ended up trying to open up a Unigraphics part file with Notepad, and that doesn't really fly!
How do you generate .rpt files though?
I thought every time you opened an external file (such as .step or .igs) it automatically generated one, but I don't see any -- anywhere.
Thanks, seems to add up!!
I always like digging into data, just opening an .IGES file also comes up with garbelygoock. It's cool to see all the entities that are in the file with the .rpt
