Can't apply material to whole part at once.

I have a single solid body that I am trying to apply a material(translucent plastic) to in Photoworks. Even though I have the Solid Body filter selected, when I hit OK nothing changes. The only way that the material successfully gets applied is if I select each face individually. Has anyone else had this problem? I am using SW2007 SP0.0 on Win XP Pro.

Try dragging the material onto the name of the part in the feature tree. You could also preselect the part and "double click" the material in the task pane.

I tried both of your suggestions, no go. The only thing that works is selecting each face individually. I think this part was originally created in SW 2006. Does that matter?

It is a single, solid part. I have attached a picture of it, after I applied the material by selecting every surface.

No, that shouldn't matter. You're applying your material to a part (solid geometry) correct? This isn't an imported surface file or surface body?

Can you post a picture?

Yes, I do have that checked. I make all my changes in Photoworks and leave the Solidworks material alone.

I just made a test part here and it's working ok. If you're expecting your part to turn transparent in the SW graphics window you'll need to have the option checked "show PhotoWorks materials in SolidWorks" in PhotoWorks options.
