We are facing 1 error in Solidworks 2009 while patterning & modifying pattern of the components in assembly file.
Randomly any of the components get suppressed from the patterned feature.
We have recorded the macro of the same.

The Component Pattern named 'Style1_LP' is the pattern with the problem. Please ignore the component patterns Style2_LP to Style8_LP.
In pattern Style1 you will find that the 3 particular instances are 1 each of Tube1, Tube2 & Tube3 are supressed. I got these instances supressed from solidworks itself, I have not supressed them manually. When you try to modify the component pattern for no. of instances from 1 to any other value, above mentioned 3 instances are always supressed.
For pattern instance value 1 you do not get any children under the pattern feature, but when you increase this count to any no. more than 1, the first ever component instance appearing for each of these 3 parts gets supressed automatically. You will also notice the same thing if you repeat the following steps on the assembly file attached.
Step1) Modify dimension 'LP_N@Style1_LP' to 1 & rebuild.
You will not find any instances under pattern feature.
Step2) Modify dimension 'LP_N@Style1_LP' to any other value & rebuild.
You will not find the first ever component instance appearing for each of these 3 parts gets supressed automatically.
same thing is recorded in the macro.
I deleted this pattern & did it entirely again thinking I may have done something wrong myself. I found that this issue is recurring.
I am actually doing the automation for this assembly, this problem is abruptly occuring to any of the other listed component patterns.
Have any one else face any similar issue & found any work around so that solidworks should return all instances in the component pattern unsupressed.

Do a thing, after creating the feature pattern unsuppress the parent parts and save your file. Now try changing the 'LP_N@Style1_LP' to any value and rebuild and check.
Can you repeat the feature pattern again and record the video.
BTW I'm using SP 3.0

Doing the following steps solve the issue for time being,
After creating the feature pattern unsuppress the parent parts and save your file. Now try changing the 'LP_N@Style1_LP' to any value and rebuild and check.
But now when ever again this problem occurs, I have to repeat these steps, which is not possible for me since I am trying to automate this & cant involve any manual operation in between.
Basically, I am setting value for 'LP_N@Style1_LP' to 1 by default so that I should not get any component loaded in the assembly under taht particular component pattern. Also, there is 1 more assumption I have made here, i.e., by doing so, there will not be any component listed at all with abrupt behavior like left behind supressed or left behind with some named configuration than same as seed.
I am now not sure if it is a bug from the software or my method of doing is wrong.
One more thing, I have Solidworks 2008 SP4 & 2009 SP4 both versions installed in my PC. Will that make any difference?

I'm using SW2009 SP4.1 and I have exactly the same problem:
Design table controlls the state of local pattern (suppressed/unsupressed) within the assembly.
when I am changing from U to S within the design table and rebuild, than local pattern is unsuppressed but none of the parts within it.
when I select all of the suppressed parts and manually unsuppress them, than the above problem goes away - meaning that I can change from U to S and back and local pattern gets unsupressed/supressed every time with dependants.
Problem comes back every time when I switch the SolidWorks off and restart it. I'll load the assembly and here we go again. unsupressed local pattern but not it's dependants (have to unsupress manually again).
I can carry on doing it forever and it doesnt get fixed.
can any1 tell me if this bug is fixed in SW2010?
I am working to the assembly that automates the design of a tool and SW2009 fails on this pattern control. Is it worth waiting for an upgrade?

I have hard time to understand the issue. Apart from feature pattern 1 rest other feature patterns have only one instance which is as good as not creating them. Can you explain more further about the error and the role of the macro doing in this.
