Lost File Associativity in Windows Explorer

Not sure if this thread's in the right place.  Sorry if not.

I recently installed software that took over all the file associativity for solidworks files.   Instead of having the individual part/assembly/drawing Icon in windows explorer (or a thumbnail), they all show the default icon for this new program.  I went in and changed the default program for solidworks filetypes back to solidworks, but now all the files just show the solidworks icon instead of their specific type/thumbnail.  Anybody know how to fix this?
