The 2D "AutoCad" Emulator is not avalible/installed on X64 machines. So while it still remains in the help documentation, if your computer and SolidWorks install is X64 you will not have the option.
And heven knows if you have X64, you don't want to go back to X32....
Hope that helps,
Hello Matt, I don't have 2010 loaded but it seems that I remember reading somewhere that some of the Add-ins got moved to their own toolbar.
Do you use the autocadish emulator?
No I don't use it, but I'd be upset if I wasn't invited to the party when they get rid of that horrid thing.
Where did you read that? I've checked the SW Office toolbar, and can't find it there. I'm just trying to decide if I can take this out of the 2010 book or not.
I just checked my copy and I don't have that option either. But I also could have a carry-over issue.
As an opinion, I think it should disappear. I think it's a bad crutch that lets uninformed people run SW in a cripple mode rather than helping/making/forcing them to learn it the right way and being truely productive and happy with it. If they think they "have" to run that way because that's what they are used to and think they like, then they will never be as productive as they could be.
Matt, Wayne, I recall reading somewhere that some items have been removed from the Add-Ins. Sorry I don't remember where, maybe it was another blog...
Who needs it, other than x-autocad people.
Matt, you've hosed your registry. That can't be good.
Ok, that sounds reasonable. What's the source of this info? If I'm gonna publish this, it needs to be on some sort of authority.
I just talked to someone at SW Corp tech support and they didn't know that. Who are you and how do you know it?
Apparently this was first mentioned in the 2007 Release Notes and repeated in the 2008 Release Notes, but no mention of it in later versions.
I hardly could find what is 2d emulator for too
but it should has own reasons occassionaly to use it
