Drawing template and Sheet Format, What the duce?

I'm going to start from the beginning, well maybe the middle.  After finishing a part or assembly I always go under file and select "make print from part/assembly".  I add my part and the titleblock updates with the text from my custom properties.  Good, great, just what I want.  Now if my part is too detailed or if my asm need multiple sheets to detail I have to add another sheet or so.  Here is my problem, when I add another sheet it uses the sheet format not the template so I have to manually add the text.  It drives me insane!  I've been dealing with it for who knows how long but today I'm on my 5th multi-sheet set of prints and I'm starting to be a little bothered.  Is there a  way to after adding the second sheet to get my template to take hold?  This is probably something simple but I'm not getting it.  I've taken my template (which is created off my sheet format) and tried to save as a new sheet format but it's still the same?
