For some reason SolidWorks can't find the calloutformat.txt, this just started and I have no Idea why? The file is in the correct location and has never been changed or moved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
DON'T rename the folder else it will mess the things. Simply open SolidWorks, go to Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations.
Under show folder for, pick Hole Callout Format File, delete the old path and add the new path.
If you have done a upgrade or installed higher version keeping an older version to, in both the case SolidWorks will first look for most of the files whose path matches. If it can find them it will assign the older path else will map to new location/path.
I have the same situation as Scott. One folder called Solidworks and the other Solidworks Corp. I have the file locations pointing to the right path. It's just the whole wizard gets out of wack once in awhile. It seems to happen more with older Solidworks files converted from SW2008. Problem I have that I've been running fine for months, and now things start popping up for no reason? We use Kaspersky here at work and I'm wondering if some settings changed, and also look at Windows updates as I mentioned earlier.
Thanks for your time,
Check the HKLM & HKCU keys to see if they contain the same values for that location. I have seen where SW will prompt that a location has changed - do you want it fixed?
Larry, this is very good info. I'm trying switch from SW2009 SP3.0 to SP4.0 but our IT group is swamped with other company PC issues. If you can keep me posted how SP4.0 is working I would appreciate it.
From what I heard from our VAR (don't quote me on this) that the SP4.1 was a hotfix that corrected issues with SW and Windows 7. I guess when you opened SW in Windows 7 it crashed the OS. I also think it happened using the SW 64 bit version.
I'm on the XP OS using the SW 32 bit version. Do you think I should still load SP4.1?
