In Solidworks 2008 how can we activate ASSOCIVITY Property from drawing views to solid models?
Use Model items to insert dimensions from part/assembly to drawing views. In this case there will be bi-directional associativity.
If you created the dimesion in the drawing, there will be only one side associativity and the dimesions in the drawing will update only if you change in part/assembly.
thanks for your response guys,
In short ... "I want my solid model to get updated when i edit a dimension in the drawing."
The associvity property of model to drawing should be vice- versa.
Thank you deepak
pls refer to deepak gupta's reply.
Ive tried it and its working.
Is this bi-directional associativity new for SW2009?
nevermind; it works in 08. I didn't know about that. Interesting and a little scary if someone didn't know they were changing the part file when they changed the drawing.
I believe this is from the day one SolidWorks came into existence. If you use model items to insert your dimensions from part or assembly, you can edit any one i.e. either in part/assembly or drawing and later one will get updated.
OK just to ask, how you put dimesions in your drawings.
