i saved a part template with custom properties filled in it (i.e, part no., description, revision, date, etc etc)
i am building an assembly in topdown approach.
while creating a NEW PART in assembly(topdown), how to see that the new part takes the existing part template?
(i.e, the newly created part should contain all the custom properties of the template.)
Click Options 
or Tools, Options.
Select Default Templates.
Click the appropriate browse button (Parts, Assemblies, or Drawings).
In the New SolidWorks Document dialog box, select the template you prepared and click OK.
Select:
Always use these default document templates (I'm not sure why but this option is not working for me)
Prompt user to select document template (I have this option selected as SW prompt me to select the template from the list)
Click OK.
