Toolbox what a marvelous piece of software, I wish Solidworks would have a proper look at Toolbox and fix all the problems!!!.
Rant over, does anyone know a way of adding Custom properties to the configured parts. I can basically add the various fields within the Toolbox settings interface but there's no way of adding the various information into these fields as they don't appear in the configurations window?.
The only way is when you create a configuration with Toolbox in solidworks and you can see the various Custom Properties fields in the side bar. The problem is that I need to add all the extra information at once. I also don't want users to be able to add new parts.
Any thoughts?
You’re not the only one who’s had questions about this. I think your intention is to edit as shown in the attached screenshot; or even export into excel, edit, and then import? Unfortunately, to edit a property’s values in the All Configurations table depends on which version of SolidWorks you’re using.
Prior to 2010, this was not possible. You may have resorted to this already, but you could apply a property with a default value in Toolbox Settings that just needs a simple edit in the PropertyManager to make it specific to that configuration. Also, customize which parts are available to the user through Toolbox Setting before hand to avoid the addition of new parts. Hope this help.
