Are there any rules against posting jobs on the forums?
Thanks,

As far as I know there isn't. I have seen other posts for jobs here.
You may have better luck with a posting with the VAR's in your area. Most VAR's have a dedicated page for this and it is directed to the users in your area.
We have alway shyed away from this.
Let us investigate this from our side, post some suggestions and we will reply to this post.
Greg,
I was just wondering if a company was looking for a Solidworks drafter/design drafter...if could post that here.
Derek
Adrian,
That is the policy that SolidWorks Yahoo! Group has had for some time. We recently changed it because the economic pressures being placed on everyone. However, we still do not allow job postings in the message board. Job postings must be placed in the Job Postings application built into Yahoo! Groups. Notices as to updates to this application are allowed in the message boards, but not the jobs themselves.
We tried to screen for headhunters before. It is not easy. Even with our smallish membership, they sneak through and spam. The reason we wanted to keep headhunters out before was that we didn't want that spam, or email address and resume farming. Many job postings on forums where they are allowed are actually fake or not in the area claimed by the poster. This is done so that the headhunter can collect resumes and possibly sell them or spam corporations that have first-to-submit policies regarding payment of finders fees.
If these issues can be addressed, I would be in favor of job postings on the community site by region. This should not be in the message board though. Create a separate area.
I agree with you Mattew, its a jungle out there.
I think a separate and secure area inside the SolidWorks would work best. Employers should register and provide company and contact info, and any resume submital should be done thru their webside or something like that; hopefully this would minimize head hunting.
Just my two pesos!
This forum thread is actually in the job postings forum.
