I recently had AutoCAD 2010 installed and it required custom performance drivers specific to AutoCAD 2010 to get it to run. Without these drivers it would crash my computer everytime I opened AutoCAD 2010. It concerns me that you now have to download custom video drivers just to get a product to run. Solidworks 2009 SP4 seems to work fine with these drivers but if anything graphically goes wrong who do I blame? Is SW going to require custom video drivers for it's platforms in the future that might cause AutoCAD to stop working? I really hope this is not the beginning of computer manufactures siding with software providers. You can read more about this below.
