I am getting ridiculous numbers in the Quantity column of my BOM But only some of them (please see attached files.
The most common cause that I have seen for this is the "BOM Quantity" setting is incorrect for that component. Open the component and do a File > Properties. there is a combo box "BOM quantity" which should be set to "- none -". I've seen this get set to PartNo and that really makes for an interesting BOM!
You must have some kind of equation. The number generated is the actual qty you show in the first pdf * the first numeric values in the "StockSize" column: 3 * 685 = 2055, and 2 * 845 = 1690. The numbers make sense, just figuring out why its doing that is the key now. Upload the SW file if you don't get it fixed yourself.
Could you provide a more info?
What version of SW are you using?
Is it a Cutlist or a BOM?
What parameter did you selected for your BOM? Indented -Detailed Cutlist BOM (sw09), Parts Only, Top Level...
Brian and Adrian,
Hi I'm using SW 2009 I've tried all the soliworks bom templates I have and all give the same results.
I selected parts only for the BOM
Files attached hope you can find an equation or something in there, I can't.
This is a great tip! I've used this more than once! Thank-you, thank-you for the help!
