copy folder of parts

I copied my library of parts to a new location on the server and when I open the parts in a folder called library on 'Z' (permissions are exactly the same in both folders on the server.) the original location being 'S' it will seek out the files and use the files from 'S' to assemble the parts rather than just looking in 'Z'.

Solidworks somehow remembers where the drawings are and I cannot get it to use just the new folder I have created.

Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

If you add the new location to the top of your file search path, it will find the referenced parts. Go to Tools, Options, File Locations, Referenced Documents and add the new location to the top of the list.

I usually like to have all SW closed and then change the name of the original folder so that you know it can't find them there. That way you are prompted to point to the new one.
