HOW TO CREATE PARENT TO A CONFIGURATION

Hi everybody i am having two questions
1) I just want to know how to create a parent configuration to a existing configuration(i know how to add derived configuration but unable to create parent to that configuration)
2) i created 2 configurations and 7 more sub derived configurations for both and now i should create 12 derived configurations to all these 7 configurations so is there is any option to copy set of configurations(derived configuration) into another derived configuration.

No one else has this question

i think Design Table would be the best solution.

  but i need derived configurations which we cannot do in design table

1. It is not possible to change or create parent for an existing configuration, either with design table or otherwise.

2. It is certainly possible to create new derived configurations using the design table. Simply fill in the column labeled "$PARENT" with the name of the configuration you wish to derive your new configuration from.
