Anyone know why this would be happening?
All of a sudden today one of our SW stations is not allowing you to modify a dimension by typing math operators in the box - e.g. if you type "+1" at the end of the dimension value, you get the error to enter a value between 0 and 1000000.
TIA

(BTW the dimension operations suddenly seem to be working again)
application.sldworks.activedoc.gettype
for a dimension value, it will return "1" (assuming the active document is a part). I've seen some instances where VBA implementation was somehow corrupted, and it caused issues like this.
No luck. Anyone have a suggestion on what to look for? I already removed SW from HKEY Currnet User and that had no affect. The next step would be to do a uninstall and clean the reg. Great if that works but 30 plus people to go...
We are running into this right now. Can't type in math operoraters (crashes sw) or run a macro. SW2010 SP4 XP 32Bit
SW2010 SP4 Wn7 64-bit works fine.
I am currently Removing the last so many Windows Updates one by on to see if that resolves the issue. I have so far removed 6 with no luck.
Ok, I'm having this exact problem now with SW2012 SP4. It's a fresh install on a new machine. I also have SW2013 B3 installed on the same machine and it works as it should.
No one who has encountered this has found a solution?
EDIT- strangely, I can divide (/), but not add or multiply.
We only had this on our XP machines not WIN 7. Something, most likely a Windows Update, stepped on VBA. Initially we were uninstalling and reinstalling but later found that doing a repair fixed it as well. The first thing that the VAR told us was to check to see if our Anti-Virus was blocking something. That did not appear to be it. We never found the root cause..

I have the same problem. Can not add values to existing dimensions!!!
Recently upgraded SW2012 to SP4.....
This problem is usually due to a problem with the VBA installation on the machine. To correct the issue, uninstall and reinstall SolidWorks. If possible do the reinstall of SolidWorks with protective software (anti-virus, anti-adware, anti-spyware) temporarily disabled.
Use this procedure to completely uninstall SolidWorks, if needed:
http://www.javelin-tech.com/main/support/pdf/solidworks_uninstall.pdf
i found that simply closing solidworks and reopening it also fixes the issue. at least it did this time
Worked for me, thanks!!! Would be bad if I had found out this issue during the CSWP exam...
Had this issue while practicing the CSWP exam!
We had this same problem with 2012 SP4 after installing 2013 B3. I tried doing a repair install to fix but that didn't work so I had to uninstall 2012 & reinstall it. I did get this bit of info from my VAR to check to see if the VBA is messed up
A) SolidWorks uses VBA for equation functionality.
To test if the issue is with VBA or not, please follow the steps and check the result:
msgbox("Hello!")
If VBA is messed up, the dimension box will ask us to enter a number. If VBA is OK, a message box will pop up containing the text "Hello!", and then the dimension value will be 1.
If you find issue with VBA then please reinstall it and reconfirm behavior
i found an esy solution for this problem. I will share with you guys.
platform features which is i use:
SolidWorks all versions!!
Win10 64bit

There is the conflict caused by Microsoft® update KB 3072630 which was released on July 15th, 2015. This update makes changes to the Windows Installer and causes issue in Equations.
To fix the problem follow procedure described bellow by SW:

Hello All,
Those who are working on SW <2016 and face this kind of issues please do this steps.
This steps are applicable for all the errors we generally get. I have used this steps till date for about 200+ systems. And this steps works for problems like
Macros not working, Design table not working. Please try this and let me know if help needed.
