It seems my Solidworks is not so sold or working any more. I get a message that seems to indicate that it cannot find the license server. My internet is working great, but solidworks is not.

Your message indicates that your install is what is known as a SolidWorks Network License. Typically a company uses this type of install so they can have say 10-12 seats of SolidWorks installed and purchase only have 4-5 licenses, as an example.
Not all the seats of SW are needed all the time. When a user needs to use SW and launches it, the software goes and looks for the license server that is installed on a company server (not a SW server) and borrows a license for the time the user is using SW. When the user closes SW, the license is return back to the license server.
You message is telling you it can't find the license server.
Are you working at home or at the office? If at the office get a hold of your IT people and ask them to check out the license server and make sure it is working properly.
Your VAR, SW reseller you bought SW from, should also be able to help you with your problem.
