Graphics Card recommendations

I'm looking for a graphics card that can run dual monitors on a non-SW workstation. The computer is primarily used for for our accounting program, outlook, and possibly the adobe CS3 suite. Does anyone have a recommendation on a cheap card that works fairly well? This machine will never be used for cad or anyting really graphics intensive at this point.

What type of monitors? or even better, what types of hookups are on the monitors ? VGA, DVI-D/I, DisplayPort, etc..

I re-read that your using Adobe CS3, and that is an OpenGL based program. So I would say a Lower end Workstation card would be best, as long as it will push the monitors.

  One is a 17" dell (low resolution) and the second is a 19" rca hd monitor. I can run VGA connections into each.
  The RCA doesn't have to be run real high, I think they use it for other things also (sales demos).

Don't get a workstation card if you aren't using CAD. any Geforce 8000 or newer should work fine if it has dual outputs. Pretty much anything you can buy new will work, including those from ATI or nVidia.

    Daniel, Depending on how far into your going to go with the CS suite, I would really research.

    Introduction to the GPU
    Photoshop CS4 leverages the graphics display card's GPU, instead of the computer's main processor (the CPU) to speed its screen redraw. For Photoshop to access the GPU, your display card must contain a GPU that supports OpenGL and has enough RAM to support Photoshop functions--at least 128 MB of RAM--and a display driver that supports OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0.
    
    Tho, be careful with the newer cards and make sure they have the correct outputs. I just bought a FX580 and it had 3 ports, 1 DVI-D port, and 2 DisplayPorts. It will only output 1 analog signal, so I had to revert back to my firegl card. Damn archaic monitors.. lol

My wife's new iMac comes with an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I was editing a 250MB .psd two days ago, 7 layers @ about 20,000 x 3,000 pixels. It ran just fine, the video rendering was completely transparent (I didn't notice any lag at all). This is on a 1920 by 1200 pixel 24" monitor.

This is with Photoshop CS4 for Mac.
