I have files that were created outside of Enterprise with
several levels of subassemblies, parts, and drawings. Can someone
outline the easiest way to bring these into the vault and maintain
the relationships? We have separate directories for parts &
assemblies. So far I've been opening the files in SW, and using
"save as" to put them in the vault starting at the lowest level and
working up. It's slow and tedious for a large assembly.
Is there documentation explaining this?
TIA

I've tried pack & go into a single folder, then drag & drop into the vault folders. My data cards don't work properly for the .slddrw files (see above).
thanks
Thanks - I'll try that.
I also found if I drag & drop files into the vault it creates a data card for the parts or assemblies, but not for the prints. This happens even if I drop the part or assembly in first, then the .slddrw file.
Is that an Enterprise set-up problem?
Part of the problem seems to be that the separate directories are in the vault. I did a pack & go to put all the files into a single folder outside the vault prior to starting this process.
Open the Enterprise PDM Administration tool, open the Card editor and see if the card is associated to all the .sld extensions Iif using a single card) or if the card for drawings is missing.

Joy
