We are about to order a server for the SQL database for
Enterprise. We are purchasing the PSL (Processor site license) and
I'm concerned about the processor limit. I beleive from what I read
in the knowledge base that the PSL means you can only have one
processor in the server. Is this correct or can you have
more.....our IT dept usually puts in dual quad cores in our
servers. I don't want to order it only to find it it won't run.
Should I push for a 2003 server x64 or just go with 32bit 2003? I expect some push back with IT regarding the 64bit OS but I'm concerned about the memory limits of 32bit.
We plan to have 100 license to start and another 100 later so I was wondering how much horsepower we need.
Importing:
40000+ Solidworks files.
10000+ Other file types
50000+ PDF files

Ask your reseller for a copy of the SolidWorks Excel spreadsheet that calculates the spec's for server CPU(s), RAM, and Disc space, it's slick.
