How often do you have to upgrade/update? Do you have to every service pack or every major release?

Just Major release update times, so if you go from SW2008 to SW2009 then you must update the vault to SW2009, but not SP3.0 to SP4.0

We can update whenever we decide to. There is no HAVE TO.

Can you be a bit more specific in what question you are asking?

  I am talking about when you upgrade/update SolidWorks, do you have to upgrade/update PDMWorks at every service pack with our seats of SolidWorks or can we just upgrade at the major release?
  Then reason that I am asking is, we are getting ready to implament PDMWorks and our IT dept. is two states away.
  It would be a real headache to have them update the PDM system every time we do a service pack update. I am just trying to figure out a course of action.
