I'm taking the Basic Techniques > Pattern Features tutorial and unlike the others, mirroring isn't working.
I'n not sure why, I seem to be following the instructions correctly.
I've attached the project file, if anyone can help. Thanks!

Hopefully you can see me:
1) Highlight the 2 lines and attached tangent on the centerline of the part
2) Select Mirror Entities in the top
3) Apply my settings with no (visible?) result
I typed the same reply and then the thread disappeared. Now it is back.

Hello,
The tutorial instructions tell you to select all of the entities, including the CL, and then run Mirror.
The mirrored entities are created without the Mirror PM opening.
If you don't also select the CL then the Mirror command opens (with no mirror yet) and you must select the CL in the PM as Mr. Salvador shows above.

Remember, this is a mirroring exercise for the slot, but (6) entities to construct a slot it isn't the best workflow to develop.
As Maha points out, use a slot.
I'll have to try that.

No, actually it's an automated "feature". I'm guessing there's a little minion back there rolling a dice to see if your post will land in the queue for moderation.

...well, in that case... it worked, or was flagged and I had to modify/resubmit.

Did you try editing it a bit? That works usually unless you used some......rank.....language or sumpin'.
And what the bot thinks is rank language is usually flawed anyway (stupid, dumb, silly, etc. can trigger it even if you're referring to yourself).
I'm having the same problem again. I don't see a temporary Y axis and the ones I've created aren't selectable.
What am I doing wrong?
You cannot mirror about an axis.

When it comes to mirroring solids and other 3D objects, you have to mirror about either a plane or a planar surface. In your instance you are going to have to create a new plane that passes through your axis line, and be sure it's oriented correctly.
There was something that I had done before that allowed me to set an offset so that the plane would line up with the middle line. I'm not sure what I did, and SW crashed afterward.
Do you know what I'm talking about? I haven't been able to do that again.....
OK, I was able to figure out how to move it to the center of my object(double-click), but now when I select mirror, I can't select the plane...
You are using a temporary '3D sketch plane' when you should be using a 'reference plane'. 3D sketch planes disappear after you exit the sketch. You need a reference plane, which is more permanent.
so many planes... I'll see if I can figure out how to use that. Thanks.
Try slot then no need to mirror.
