Cool, thanks for sharing Alin. I wasn't really looking for a different method of processing though, I was asking how many people do we need to pay, including SolidWorks, to get SolidWorks to work correctly?
When is SolidWorks going to be able to operate with files generated by a different version of itself?
I already know the answer, I'd rather point the embarassment publicly in that thread.
Why branch this part of the discussion of? Is it "Divide and Rule" according old Roman politics? Or is it ïf you can't convince them, confuse them".

As if somebody from SolidWorks would adress this delicate matter publicly.
We've been going through a process lately inside the company, which, to keep it short, highlights what causes the most issues inside the company to then adress these issues one by one.
SolidWorks has came up as the very clear winner for the thing that causes the most issue inside the company. We want to stay with the program, because while there are days where I'd like to rip my hair off of my head, there are also days where I go ''Thank god I had SolidWorks to do this, or it would have been a pain''. Maybe that's because I don't know well enough the other alternatives, but I'd rather believe that SolidWorks is a pioneer in it's domain, which is why we chose it in the first place. We've also built so much around SolidWorks that it would just be sad to have to switch because of this.
So, yeah, we're kind of stuck in this situation. The only way I see right now to get out of the situation, is to actually do the switch, which I'm not really ready or interested in doing, but as time goes, things slowly change. I've been slowly contemplating the idea of just cutting off our subscriptions, since even if we did everything by the book, we still couldn't technically upgrade versions.

I'm past the point of even wanting to "upgrade".
Pretty much the same here. I was really eager to move to 2021 until I read the issues people were encountering and also got bit again by the template issue.
So I'm still on 2019 SP5
