It's a simple question... is SW Corp slowly intending to kill this forum as a means to move all the users to 3DExperience?
We've all seen the lack of maintenance, lask of support, the latest moderation bot and the points being removed...
So.. is it,.. why waste time and pussy foot around?
Why not just be honest and shut this forum down so we can all move to 3DExperience?
Or.. why not be transparent about the intents for the forums future?
Or maybe it is just 'cancel culture'?
I seriously doubt solidworks is trying to fix the moderation problem on this forum. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to solve if they really wanted to.
It's been happening for a while. But I think the other message board was so poorly implemented, it's been a slow death. There are a few other factors that have contributed to the constrictor squeeze on this forum. It's eerily similar to the comp.cad.solidworks forums demise.
Yes...with the help of the Russians.
I mean...of course they're not! Don't be silly.
Even spewing the party-speak didn't help.

I think so...maybe...
Yes, but only in moderation

Tried for 8 replies so far (this is #9), all in moderation and some for multiple tries.
That's your answer.
This is my tenth reply
I had a string of 15 moderated posts. The moderator didn't approve them.
It appears they have fixed the bug where you could bypass moderation by editing your post.
More evidence they are trying to kill this forum, not fix it...
Considering how long this moderation problem has been around, my guess is this problem is about 99th on Ryan's priority list.
Hello everyone, I have been in contact with the company that hosts the forum trying to address the issue. From their side, it appears a setting has changed and we are in the process of putting it back to its functioning state. Thank you for stating that it is still an issue. I have noticed it on my end, as there are hundreds of posts a day that end up in my queue for approval.

They need to automated this, like a high speed virginizer....
..so,.. you're saying this is going to take a whole lot longer?
Comp.cad.solidworks died due to a combination of the impending doom of usenet in general, the rise of the real internet, and also a certain individual who shan't be named (initials J. B.) and the flurry of trolls who followed him around.
What's happening here is different. I think it has more than a little to do with the change in management, but also, this is DS/SW style - ride a horse until it falls over dead, then just replace the horse. What happened to the last several renderers? How about PDMWorks? The same is happening with local/Windows CAD. Just let it die and replace it. Step function. No smooth transition, just one day total disruption. Businesses don't like to be disrupted. Businesses like predictability, a path forward that makes sense, and allows them to reuse existing data.
...yes.
