I am simulating the ventilation of an electric cabinet. For key components I have the thermal properties, however for some components they are to complex to simulate and I only know heat dissipation, meaning the temperature results will be almost random.
With this in mind, I would like to apply a blackbox approach, but I am a little bit lost, on how to define the thermal properties.
Does anyone have any tip on how to define unknown components?

It is not quite this example you showed, although I am not sure if I could apply it. Meanwhile I will investigate it.
What I am simulating is electronics cooling by air. I have one cabinet that has multiple components. The critical electricals, I detailed the model, and they are ok. The busbars also reach the same temperatures as the experiments. The problem is in complex components in which there is no information from the inside, such as circuit-breakers. I have power dissipation, but thermal properties it is more difficult due to the lack of information. The black box is a solid that creates heat.
Mh, soo, you just want something which creates heat ? I've understood you have the geometry ? If so, you can just apply a heat volumic source for the components on which you don't have much infos. You can't do much better if you really have nothing better than the heat dissipation. You can't tell the software to simulate something you don't have info on ;
You could provide the right material (something close to it) so it'll be more precise about the temperature obtained.
