I'm trying to work out the best way to demonstrate in composer where we want our fitters to run a bead of sealant. I've looked at a few different ways to show this but I believe the best way would be to use a line in composer however they don't seem to snap to any vertices or faces like they would in SW. Is there a setting to turn snapping on?
alternatively I know I can use the explode diagram to separate surfaces out of an actor. is there a way to separate out individual edges?
You're thinking too constructively, and that's the wrong way to go in Composer.
There are several ways to create such a bead of sealant.
1. Use a polyline and change the line type to "Advanced". Then use symbols to represent the line. Mostly this is the easiest and fastest way.
2. in animations I use a primitive like a sphere. I let it travel the path with the transform commands and then create an "associative path from animation". Then set the sphere to size 0.1 and set the path in thickness and color. Also here the linetype "advanced" can be used.
