I am new to Solidworks and have been using AutoCAD for numerous years.I have a pipe that will run on the x axis that will sit in a pipe running on the y axis. I need to trim out the area from the x axis pipe so y axis pipe can sit in there. The x axis pipe will be larger. Do i need to draw both pipes or can I just draw/extrude x axis pipe and tell it the diameter needed to cut?
Thanks
Depending on what you need depends on what you need to create. If all you need is the shape of the "fish mouth" then all you need is to cut with the correct outside diameter of the pipe you need to fit up to. If you need to spec out the both pipes for fabrication then you can have both pipes as weldments and use the "trim" feature.
