We use a lot of fasteners which require hexagon holes, as shown below.
I created different library features for each different hex hole size and my current work flow is as follows:
- create a sketch with points on each position of the required hex holes
- drag the library feature into a sketch point
- create a sketch-driven pattern
I'm wondering whether this is still the best way to do it.
I would prefer to have a hole wizard feature to achieve this in order to dimension the hoIe series in the drawing using hole callout and have direct information of number of instancies and hole dimensions (eg. "3x HEX HOLE 6.1 A/F").
I know it has been an ER created for this a couple of years ago. Does anybody know about any progress on it?
I'm using SW2019 SP5.
Another solution could be to insert smart fasteners with smart features in the assembly, but in that case I have no referencies to mate the fasteners.
Any suggestions? What is your workflow?
