Determine Solidwork version with Notepad?

Is it possible to determine the Solidwork file version using text editing software like Notepad? 

Example scenario: 

I have a machine with Solidworks 2017 installed. 

I received a file that say it is future version.

Looking at the file properties say that it is Future Version too. 

How do I know which version should i installed (eg: 2019 or 2020) to ensure the correct version is installed 

Of course, I could try one by one but that is redundant and time consuming...

(Saving the file into latest version eg: 2021, is a no go for this case)
