Hello everyone!
I am going to completely upgrade my computer.

Now I have the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X processor
and motherboard ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming

And I have heard a lot about that a some not very outdated of video cards will no longer be supported in the newest versions of SW Visualize
Is it possible to get advice on a modern graphics card within the price of 1000 euros?

my eyes fell on the PNY Quadro RTX4000 8.0 GB

and on a more modern card GeForce RTX 3080

The price is about the same, but it's hard for me to make a choice.

Hi,
I‘m running Visualize on a GeForce RTX 2060 Super from 2019. And on a Quadro P4200 in my mobile workstation. The RTX is way faster but I‘ve got more trouble get it working. Driver issues ... as always.
If you are running SWX as well then go for a Quadro with a certified driver.
And please be aware that the GeForce RTX 30x0 isn‘t supported today. Support for these most recent GPUs will start with SWX Visualize 2021 SP3.

  Still, I tend to buy the 3080. Cause it's a modern card with amazing features and at an affordable price. The newest (ampere) Quadro are not out yet, but I think the cost will be expensive.
  
  Please tell me what problems are you experiencing with the 2060? (crash of the SW or artifacts when rendering)

  SWX I did not understand what X means in abbreviation. Is this about another program? Not SOLIDWORKS Visualize?
  
  Is there any information when SP3 will be released? maybe until that time use only processor? Has anyone done a render test with a single AMD Ryzen 9 3950X? For example, how long does it take to render a Comaro?

    the abbreviation SWX (or SW) means SOLIDWORKS - the main CAD program.
    
    Issues I've have/had with SWX and Visualize:
    - Graphic glitches in SWX; have to turn off the new graphics pipline
    - Visualize crashes or lost the GPU acceleration. Have tried 4 different drivers and re-installs. Now it's working again.
    
    SP3 will be released around May (sometimes April or June, mostly May).
    
    Yes, the 3080 will be a good choice in terms of performance. Affordable price? - Not in this moment.
    
    Running Visualize without any GPU acceleration is a pain. To give you an idea, I've just rendered Camaro with 100 passes in UHD resolution:
    - GPU only (RTX 2060 Super): 38 sec
    - CPU only (Ryzen 7 3800x with 8 cores): 8 min 22 sec
    -> 13x slower!

      It becomes obvious to me that 3080 doesn't make sense to buy now.
      And I have a new dilemma GeForce 2080 SUPER vs Quadro RTX4000
      
      I do not plan to use the full SolidWorks package
      I'm interested in the VISUALIZE only.
      If I install a suitable driver, then program can work fully? (Turntable animation and randomly flying camera). Judging by the characteristics of the GeForce 2080 SUPER, it is more productive than Quadro RTX4000
      
      Another question about the cost of the license. When I buy 2021 SR2 , then SR3 updates will be provided free of charge, am I right?

        There is no given limitation when a GeForce will be used for Visualize. But SOLIDWORKS does not certify GeForce cards at all - important when it comes to issues. I would go for a RXT 2080 Super. It will be faster for almost the same buck. And when it's not fast enough - get a 2nd one Or maybe 2x 2070 Super?!
        
        When you buy Visualize you always get the most recent version. If you want to get updates, service packs and support your have to pay for the annual maintenance plan. Without you'll get nothing of theses.
