Hello, I am running 2019 Solidworks and the mass property feature does not work. I have tried un-installing and re-installing Solidworks as well as the 2020 version but the mass properties still does not work. I have also tried disabling my anti virus protection before un-installing and installing but it still does not work. When Mass properties is clicked three pink axes show up in the center of the build and the options on the left (ex. Part, Equation, Sketch) do not display their usual features when right clicked. The pop up or dialog box that has all the information which appears when mass properties is clicked does not come up. Your help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Hello guys,
My friend helped me figure out why it was happening. The dialogue box was hidden and that setting was automatically saved in Solidworks. To fix this issue you have to 1) close Solidworks, 2) search regedit in your windows search on the task bar, be careful with these features in "regedit.exe or registry editor" since if they get messed up, it will be hard to rectify. 3) Click Hkey current user, 4) scroll down and click Software, 5) Click Solidworks, 6) Locate the Solidworks edition you are working with and then click it, 7) scroll down and click user interface, 8) and then lastly locate "dialogs" and just rename this folder to anything ex "dialogs_old". Once that's done exit the registry editor and run Solidworks again and it should be all good. When the file is renamed Solidworks assumes the default setting for dialogue box addresses which overwrites the previous saved settings. Hope this helped since i was struggling to fix this issue for the past few days.
There's a YouTube video titled "SOLIDWORKS: Reset Dialogue Windows" by Hawk ridge systems, which is where i learnt how to fix my issue. Hope this helped!
