I have currently split my part using the split tool as seen in the first image. I would like the side to be split on a diagonal as seen in the second picture. Is it possible to do this with the split tool? Or how can I go about doing this?

For this case an extruded surface body with draft in the feature, or draft added to the surface body later if wanted different direction draft values applied would work best prior to making the split feature. You can use other items to make the split feature.

Did it not according to your dimension.
Make two sketches
Use they for create Loft surface
Use this surface for split part:
If you need gaps between faces use Move Face command with option Offset
Other way is split part perpendicular and use Move Face command with option Rotate

I wrote about two sketches for create split tool (surface)
I showed on simply part because I have old version SW.
