I am trying to add a sheet metal jog to a part I created but the command is greyed out. I have created the part using convert to sheet metal and base/flange method and neither allow me to create the jog. the sketch bend tool is also greyed out. I know solidworks recognizes as a sheet metal feature because it allows me to create an edge flange on the same part. I am able to create an example part using the same method and add a jog no problem. My part file contains surface bodies and solid bodies, could that some how cause a problem in making the sheet metal parts?
Are you facing this problem only in the case of an imported part or also on the sheet metal part created in SOLIDWORKS?
Sometimes, the AI of SOLIDWORKS won't let to use the tools which have been used already and can be used only once. But in this case, it should not be like that. I guess you have selected the faces and bend edges correctly. If you have converted it into sheet metal that SOLIDWORKS can relate with the parts created in it, then it should not be grey. Try doing it once again with the correct procedure of converting it into sheet metal.
