How do I turn off the Annotations Update in an SLDDRW file? It's really annoying, every time I change sheets it tries to add dimensions to my drawing.
Hi Dave, do you mean the notes show@ up in the picture come up every time when you open new drawing documents?
It doesn't effect the drawing notes. I took a larger screenshot. It seems like it wants to add new dimensions - I've circled some of them. If I hit the red "X" on the menu and this goes away. But as soon as I go to another sheet on the drawing and come back to this one, it pops up again and I have to "X" it out again; every time I open the drawing and evert time I switch sheets. It disrupts the work flow. It only happens on certain drawings, not sure why. My guess is that there must be a setting that I can find and uncheck or something like that. Or maybe there is some thing built into the template (I didn't create it).
I came here because I've got exactly the same problem and it's infuriating! I've been a CSWP since 2007 and I've never seen this behaviour before! We have a new guy who's been messing with the templates so I suspect it's something in the document options in the file.
Please can someone explain how to turn this off?!

This is just a shot in the dark, but does your user have this option selected when adding a drawing view? Some settings in Drawing property managers are "sticky" even though they aren't in Document Properties.
We've faced the issue since we jumped on SolidWorks. To remedy it, if I recall correctly, you check or uncheck the box and then press on the green check. Don't worry, the hidden annotations won't show up. It always tingled my curiosity as to what it was and why it popped up.
What Glenn posted is most likely the culprit.
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I've managed to work around it in two different ways.
If I accept (click the green tick) on the annotations update property manager on each drawing sheet once, it seems not to reappear.
If I untick "import annotations" in the property manager of each view then the annotations update property manager doesn't seem to reappear.
I haven't spent any time working with the drawing since finding these workarounds so they may come back but at least I'm not tearing my hair out anymore! I'm still confused as to why I haven't ever seen it before but hopefully this will help someone else work around it.
You could correct your drawing templates so that the ''Import annotations'' setting is off by default rather then on. That would prevent the issue from reoccuring for future created files, and you could resolve the existing files with the method you and I both mentionned.
