I recently taught a Mold Tools class and a portion of the training discusses the use of 3D Interconnect. One of my students stated that they found that they had issues with CAM when the 3DI was enabled as it would cause the Z-axis to reverse in the code (crash). He said that in some cases, the program will pick up on small gaps in the model that will cause this. Specifially, he said that 3DI will cause cylindrical features to be split into halves and has caused gaps to occur. By disabling 3DI they have been able to avoid this.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm not sure if SOLIDWORKS is aware of the issue so I'm trying to gather information for a service request.
I'm not quite sure why this would happen since 3DI is supposed to eliminate the "conversion" of files in the first place.
