Why does Hot key for Showing Current Display State needs to be pressed twice?
I have the "D" button assigned to show the current display state but when I press it the first time, I just get a faint preview of what's about to be shown, then it goes away.
Then I press the hotkey a second time, and this time it works as expected.
Any thoughts on how to avoid this?

I assigned a kb shortcut to View>Display States and this toolbar toggles on and off with each keypress.
I can't replicate your issue.
Is this what you wish to display?
SW2019 SP5.

The hide works fine ..
the Show needs to be done twice in order for it to work. But I need to wait until it doesn't work the first time .. then I can press "D" again .. then it works the second time.

Is there a context that needs to occur for these commands?
I don't see any changes pressing either.

We are using Solidworks 2020 SP5. In previous versions, when I would select a part either in the tree, or in the graphics window, and hit the "H" key .. the part would hide.
When I selected a hidden part from the tree, and hit the "D" key, it would show.
now .. I select the hidden part from the tree .. and hit "D" .. and I get a faint preview of the part it will show .. and then it goes away. the I hit "D" again .. and then the part shows.
The extra step is very time consuming and seemingly redundant.

It works for my 2019 & 2020, both sp 5.
Since my H was already assigned, I tested with U (hide) & Ctrl+U.
Doesn't make any sense, but are the selected kb letters affecting this?

I have tried re-mapping the keys to something else, and still have the same issue.

Then it might be a graphics card issue.

Good call Kevin. I installed the latest video card drivers (had to go with non-certified)
Now its working as expected.
