I'm trying to do an extrusion of the highlighted section to be angle at 30 degrees from horizontal as it connects to the object at the thinner section of the highlighted section. How do I go about doing that?
Create an extra sketch with the direction you want (30°) and use a line from that sketch in the extrude properties:
Thanks, got it with your help.
Glad you worked it out.

Eddy I have been using SW for almost 15 years now and I just learned that you can use a sketch like that for direction of an extrusion. Thanks, Tom
Happy days ;-)

Not been using SW for as long as you by any stretch, but never knew it either. I was shocked and giddily surprised that you can still use draft with that as well.
I have no idea if I will ever need to have a complex sketch at an angle with draft....but nice to know I can if I wanna :-)
I can imagine this might come in handy for some wire cut stuff on occasion.
I learned it a few years ago, I think when I discovered that we can extrude 3d sketches, since you have to indicate a direction for those extrudes. I don't use it often, but it sure comes in handy when I do need it.
I am one of the worst at RTFM violations. But this is from the solidworks help site.
