Hi,
I have the following part that is a doubler for a tank.
When I suppress the Cut-Extrude 2 I can get the flat pattern but if it is active it comes up with an error.
I tried few options in the cut function but nothing is working.
Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks for your answer! That is very helpful.
1- I need to follow the bottom of the tank so it needs to be an ellipse for the model but if it makes it easier to go with an approximate round shape to obtain the dxf I might look into that..
2- I saw that at some stage and tried several options to see if I could remove that. If I don't put a normal cut it clear that fault. Not sure how to fix that.
3/4- I am not sure how this is done, I tried to remove the fillet and tried to "unbend" The part using all the edges I could find but without luck.

If you have SWX higher version you can try with surface flatten command.

I've taken a look at your part and founds some ...difficulties:
1.) You've used an ellipse as the profile for a base flange. SWX isn't very good using these. And it's result is NOT an radius, as a bend has usally. But I understand, that you might need this profile...
2.) With this said, SWX shows it's problems at this cut, wich isn't going through.
3.) A fixed edge for the flat pattern in the middle of the part? No, this won't work reliable in SWX.
4.) But you've rounded away all linear edges SWX could use instead...
5.) Using an approximated profile will work (together with the other changes). But is it accepable for you?
