Hello, I've recently graduated from university, where I was introduced to SolidWorks and used it a lot. I've since passed the CSWP exams and am looking for a job using SolidWorks as a mechanical design engineer. I'd really like to continue the learning curve, and with Christmas coming up, am wondering if anyone can recommend any good tutorial books for this level of study?

Fantastic. 1000+ pages, sounds like it will keep me going until next Christmas! The reviews are very complimentary saying Matt goes a bit further than others by doing things like explaining what not to do and why. I'll defo be adding this one to my Christmas list.
Quick question, does this book feature an explanation of all SolidWorks functions or just those at a particular level and leave out the basic stuff?

It has just about everything in there. It just goes through the base package, no add-ins. It doesn't do toolbox or simulation or rendering, but it does sheet metal, weldments, interface, equations, configurations, assemblies, layouts, libraries, plastics, multibodies, mold tools, master model, import, direct edit, drawings, surfaces, symbols, fonts, colors,... The table of contents is 8 pages.
Sounds perfect!

...by the way Mastering SolidWorks by Sybex is just a continuation of the SolidWorks Bible series published by JWiley. The publishers wanted to start over with an unrecognizable name and cover because... well... maybe they just wanted to give some of the other books a chance. Actually it was a political decision because someone was offended by the "Bible" part of the name. Anyway, yes, Mastering Solidworks is the updated 2018 version of the SolidWorks Bible. ...until inevitably someone will be offended by the "master" part of the new name, and we'll start all over again to see if there were any additional groups the publisher could offend... just so you know, there's no religious or racial content in the books, just some editor's over active imagination with the title.

CAD captured my imagination. I love geometry and shapes, and also mechanical stuff. Plus I was tired of sleeping on friends couches when working as a musician.
Geometry and shapes, I'm the same. I'd feel lucky to find a career with solidworks as it didn't feel so much like work!
SDC publishes a great line of books some of which I used a few years ago.
Brill, thanks Jeff. I'm liking the look of some of those topic specific books, I will have to keep them in mind when I find out what field of work I go in to.
