Hi, Where can I find a good tutorial on welding assembly simulation?
What is, "Welding assembly simulation"?
Is this, FEA simulation of weldments?
Is this, FEA simulation of frames (beam elements)?
Is this, animation of laying down weld beads?
Is this, animation of assembling components to be welded?
Can you Attach example assembly here and more information about you simulation goals?
For a simple welded beam assembly like this one I would like to do a workload analysis, something similar to simulationxpress but for assembly
You might want to read up on the analysis of weldments first - Omer W. Blodgett wrote the book on weld analysis back in the 1960's maybe earlier. It is really worth getting familiar with this and then figure out how you can use FEA to analyze the weldments. Of course, Vince's stuff is good too.
Regulars here will know my answer.
A weldment is a single solid. Model it as such. Then mesh and run it. There are no other steps.
The methods are outlined in Solidworks Simulation for Real Weldments – Stone Lake Analytics, LLC
You do not need the weld beads.

Frame analysis (beam elements).
Or maybe thin feature (shell elements).
What version of SolidWorks do you have?
I have solidworks 2020
I meant, like SolidWorks Premium with full SolidWorks Simulation...
I have SolidWorks Premium with full SolidWorks Simulation...
Is it possible to purchase this component separately? Because I am a subscriber for SWX standard version but I cannot afford a Premium version.
