I have got a point on the drawing sheet , I want a point in the model view to be coincident with that point on the drawing sheet.
I'm not aware of any way to do that, other than of course just eye-balling it.
I also don't know if that is possible, because in the moment that you draw a point in the drawing view, it belongs to the view and can only be moved by dragging the view itself...
Can't do that. You're also mixing 2D and 3D worlds.
Tell us what end result you are trying to accomplish and I bet someone will have a solution or work-around for you.
i just want the center of the drawing to stay in place, even if the dimensions are changed.
For eg. I want a cylinder center to be fixed, so that if I change the dimensions related to the cylinder and origin (the distance), say i move the cylinder for 10mm from the origin, the drawing of that cylinder shouldn't move in the drawing sheet.
If you right click on a view you can Lock View Position.
It's not exactly what you want but see if it works for you.
Vote for SPR 552127: Ability to fix or precisely position / place a drawing view on the sheet. for a chance at seeing it in a future release.
How do I vote on an SPR in the Knowledge Base?
it's possible to fix the position of an view (use the context menu of the view). Maybe this will work for you?!
Since it seems every 'view' is already centered if you show the grid and have previously laid in a couple orthographic lines (sketch) on your sheet (I selected the line between the 5&4 and B&C zones) and line up the grid with those then you can delete the sketch lines (or hide them).
i had a work around done, i fixed the position of that part by mating it with the assembly plane.
Now I have fixed the drawing position but the annotations doesn't move with part.
for eg. i reduce the size of the part the annotations look like a mess, is there any solution for this.
annotations I use: balloon, smart dimensions.
Automatically I don't think so, because all of these things like ballon, dimensions, anotations, they are all linked to the template. I don't know if it is possible to scale according to view scale.
